Before the internet revolution, business associations across other country is an difficult task that need hours and hours waiting for a phone call or getting a letter was a big deal and its arrival was announced to every people. But now, with the advent of the net, life is becoming so easy.

Social networks are focus on building online communities of people who share interests and/or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others. The Internet world became people playground where there are more choices and more opportunities to meet and stay-in-touch with people you may or may not know. It allowed people to embody personas and feel ‘liberated. Nowadays, you may have not a Blogger account but you must have a Facebook account. If someone doesn’t, people will just look at you like a 19 century human or some creature that like at Mars.

Friendster , the first-of-its-kind social networking website, launched in 2002. During this communication method, I and my friends could remain all in one place. Then later on, came Facebook, My Space, Blogger, Twitter, Flickr, Netlog, You Tube......

Facebook allow me and my surrounding friends to spend countless hours poring over the message books of our friends, friends of friends, favourite celebrities and so on by sharing their photos, sending messages, chit-chat, playing games, making online business. I like Facebook because it allows me the opportunity to see what is going on with friends, find out interesting things about school, parties, games and others. For examples, it let me able to discuss and comment some sorts of useful information. I generally use Facebook to discuss my group project. Just leave any comment on the group page, so members can to check it when they were free. There’s no need to worries about the attendance. This is because if we discuss during meeting, some members may not able to attend because of the time crashing.

Other than that, I also enjoy online shopping on the net. It saves me more time and money rather than waiting public transport for hours. I personally found out many of old school friends using Facebook. Sometimes, we discuss details about our class reunion on Facebook.

There was once a time when photo sharing websites were simply used to upload pictures. In recent years, Flickr have turned into social networks. We can discuss each other’s photos, and even form groups that revolve around a specific theme such as outdoor activities, specific location, amusement parks.

If saying that the existing of Flickr is for photographers, then You Tube is an example of social networks for videographers. Just like Flickr, YouTube allows me to comment on other people's videos, and join groups based on video themes. YouTube also has a great feature that enables me to post my artwork or favourite videos, MTV on other social networking websites.

I found out as internet becoming more advanced, people are getting more ‘shy’ to communicate to the others including me. They are more capable to speak without face to face. Therefore, Yahoo Messenger, MSN, imo, Google Talk and etc were every popular among teens. These online instance messengers let me create a private chatroom with other individual in order to communicate in real time. It is similar as using telephone conversation but using text based to communicate. It had require me to become a fast typer, communicator, and articulate phrases

Social network is all about global communication and sharing. The sharing of information, photo, video, knowledge and so on enables people all around the world become more closer and mutual understanding. Although social network allows us to be in touch with our families and friends, but it lack to human touch, the love and care which we feel in our relationships when meeting face to face doesn’t exist in social networking. It only allows us to have contacts of all our friends.
